The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-South grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Since 1986, the Mid-South Chapter has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Foundationâ??s mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors and entire communities.
Our chapter volunteers are part of a nationwide network of nearly 25,000 caring people dedicated to making wishes come true. Although it has become one of the worldâ??s most well-known charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation??® has maintained the grassroots fulfillment of its mission to serve children with life-threatening medical conditions. Volunteers serve as wish granters, fundraisers, special events assistants and in numerous other capacities.
As the Mid-South Chapter continues to grow, its mission will remain the same. Wish children of the past, present and future will have an opportunity to share the power of a wish??®.
The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.
The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nationâ??s most valuable resources â?? our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.
The motto "Soldiers Helping Soldiers" is a testimony to the ride's beginnings when a few soldiers of the 155 Brigade Combat Team of Mississippi, while still deployed in Iraq, put together the logistics for the first ever Dixie Thunder Run in 2006. In the beginning the Dixie Thunder Run was a motorcycle ride to benefit deployed soldier's families of Mississippi. As it spread by word of mouth, soldiers and supporters have joined over the past Six years to make the Dixie Thunder Run the largest organized motorcycle ride in the state of Mississippi.
Dixie Thunder presently has two rides per year, Memorial Day and Labor Day, in addition to the rides we hold several other events during the year, which helps to support ???Operation First Response???, a Non-profit organization that provides financial Emergency relief to all five branches of the Military Nationwide.
Operation First Response is a Non- Profit organization dedicated to the Men and Women who defend our Country each and every day. They are on a National Level, and specialize in emergency financial assistance to military families. They cover all branches of the Military.

Patriot Guard Riders Mission Statement
The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America???s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us.
We don???t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you???re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn't matter where you???re from or what your income is; you don???t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.
Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives:
Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.
Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors.
We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.
To those of you who are currently serving and fighting for the freedoms of others, at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you. We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all.
In this sport... knowledge and a sharp mind are prerequisites to staying alive. My hope is that after perusing these tips, at the very least, you'll be a safer... more informed rider. When all's said and done, we all know that deep down the hobby that brings us together is godawful dangerous no matter how good we are... or how lucky we are.
